Dale Carnegie said the only way you can influence a person is by empathy and appreciating the person the way they are. We live in a world where we have become so individualistic that we don’t even imagine the effects of our actions on our neighbours. We are so blinded with our egoistic nature, we are blinded by the greedy and selfishness that those who are not in our social class will never contribute to our development. This is a fallacy that has been propagated by the elite who always want to patronize others. Solomon in the book of proverbs says “as iron sharpens iron so does man sharpens another man. I don’t see where class and social status count in helping others. We have grown to become ineffective in impacting the lives of other people by abandoning our human nature that was built in us to make us unique. Practicing gratitude. I can a test to the fact that whenever people are not restrained from acting because they are employees, because they are from different community. Because they belong to a different social class we realize gratefulness and satisfaction. But because we have effected the art of discrimination we are not able to impact lives. We are not able to influence even our own self. Here are the reasons as social entrepreneurs why we should take gratitude as a factor that will contribute toward the success of making  AFRICA A BETTER PLACE DEVOID OF POVERTY, IGNORANCE AND DISEASES. 1. GRATITUDE SHIFTS OUR MINDS-when you are stuck in a problem mentality you miss out on all the opportunities for solutions that are knocking on your door everyday simply because you don’t hear or see when it comes. Gratitude makes us appreciate than in every calamity there is a positive turning point. In any case most opportunities come wrapped in rags. if we are angry we might not have time to unwrap it. We should be grateful in any opportunity that presents itself to us. 2. GRATITUDE CREATES SOLUTIONS-It removes you from complaining mode and into a best outcome mindset. That is a skill as entrepreneurs we need in life and in our quest to improve the lives of people in Africa, it is the skill we need to influence formulation of policies that does not discriminate other people. It is the skill we need to help others discover their abilities, gifts and talents. 3. GRATITUDE IS CONTAGIOUS- when you are grateful you tend to exude and share that contagious positive energy. Energy that makes people feel valued and appreciated, energy that makes people think of others with high regards. Ant this is the reason we need to spread the contagious passion in our Africa talents and gifts. This is the reason as to why I dream of Africa that better, Africa that embraces people not brutality, that is why I dream of Africa that is free from crimes against humanity. That is why I believe in social entrepreneurship as means to African prosperity. Let us join hand and make gratitude part of our daily lives
