GROWING LEADERSHIP, INGRIDIENT FOR SOCIAL INNOVATION

A leader is a person who works towards solving problems in the society. as it has been repeatedly said people will only those who seem to have direction. John c.Maxwell puts it well in his book 5 levels of leadership ‘ people will follow a leader who is in higher level of leadership’.

developing leadership skill remains the most important requirement for social entrepreneurs. one can only be creative if they are interacting with others. man was never created to live in solitude, but with company. the best mirror of our actions and character, our very friends, our colleagues. unlike enemies friends will genuinely tell you where you are making mistakes. often good leaders will learn from those mistakes

it is with the ocean of humanity that we get to learn. learning various cultures and beliefs which in turn enrich our experiences. it is in the midst of our people that we get to learn our great abilities and talents. it is in the presence of people hat we will learn to appreciate divergent opinion.

for one to develop leadership skills, emotions has to be guided and controlled. you can only be aroused by incidents that affect people especially your inner circle friends and family. changing your emotions to fit into that required in leadership, will take a bit of learning. but eventually it wills pay.

for social innovators, of importance is to learn how to solve the social problems.it takes a big heart to even imagine of thinking of helping others. it takes sacrifice to continuously be in a path of trying to find solutions that will help the masses. but when that happens you become the most happiest person. this comes with a cost like Socrates said he who wants to move the world move himself.

seeking to find solutions for the community is an ambitious objective. when you meet this objective no matter how small you feel accomplished. you get the guts to attempt greater projects. you become more determine do bring a bigger change, and obviously your adrenaline is ready to fight more.

to encourage people to join you in the journey of leadership more importantly for them to allow you to lead them then,  you need to be a chief encourager. learn the best capability of your people and always let them know about it. take your time to be interested in what they are doing. this will ultimately en dare them to you.

it is said that you cannot withdraw money from an account if you have not invested. the same way one has to invest emotionally in the people before starting to withdraw. this is the rule of social investment.
